So we’re long over due for an update here at Fresh, but we have our reasons.
First up, I hope you are having a fantastic Labor Day weekend, rock t
hose white pants while you still can. as you know Labor Day weekend is a great time for partying and toasting this amazing weather. Gabi went down to the Hamptons, and by the looks of it (twitter) she’s doing just fine. To celebrate her return we are hosting tonight at 1OAK and we hope to see you there lookin fresh in your white pants and dresses (you don’t have to wear white, but why not?)
Stay tuned. We have so much to share. New events, new venues, and even our new logo!
Stay Fresh,
Kat
(DJs Josh Link and Vikas at GPH)
On Monday our dear friend and mentor Josh Link passed away. Josh was in a Vespa accident crossing the Williamsburg Bridge late Monday afternoon, and was scheduled to deejay our party at The Eldridge when we heard the devastating news. The deejay who played at all the best venues, as well as all our collaborative parties so far, was more than just a DJ we asked to play our parties, he was a proper friend. Gabi and I had only a handful of venues that would give us full control over a party, but with his help and encouragement he opened the door for many great opportunities this Fall. He cared so much for everyone around him, he was above all the nightlife shennanigans, even though he could be spotted shirtless many nights at The Box. Gabi and I owe our entire career to Josh, he made us to strive for only the best, and with such push we are now successfully running our business. We shared many great nights and early mornings together, we could converse for hours because he would stay interested even through silly girl talk, and most of all he believed we could make Fresh Productions work. Our friend Josh will always hold a very imporant place in our hearts. R.I.P Josh Link - The Freshest of Fresh.
Tonight we will be hosting at Above Allen from 10:30-12:30, and then The Gates until 2.
Afterwards we will go to The Box to pay tribute to Josh Link. DJ B-ROC invites all DJ friends of Josh to hop on the decks for a song at 2AM, when Josh would usually start his set.

***If you are a friend of Josh’s please stop by his E. Houston St. apartment to honor him. Light a candle on his balcony (climb up, his family doesn’t mind.) Leave an old record or a picture, write a note, anything to show your respect for such an amazing guy.

This week was a week of new faces and new places at Fresh. With Gabi en route to LA to take a week hiatus from NYC nightlife insanity I tried my best to hold it down. What I’ve learned from this week is this chick puts up with A LOT of Patron shots. Which brings me to my first venue of the week:
Monday nights @ The Eldridge
Remember when entry at The Eldridge seemed a little too impossible? Well last Monday Gabi held it down at Matt Levine’s spot The Eldridge kicking off their new Monday party. She brought the entire venue down, tunes from Josh Link(RDV, The Box, GPH) fueled the crowd (her crowd) with energetic hits to dance and make-out to in one’s best hipster garb, and she poured drinks keeping the fire going.
Observing her every move from the previous week, it was my turn to play kick-ass hostess, and I hope I played the part well.
Upon entering at 12:30 the party was in full effect. Dancing, crop-tops, DJ Lucas Walter killin’ it with 80’s and 90’s hip-hop in the barely 75-person capacity lounge already packed. The crowd was an eclectic mix of Le Royale Monday night survivors, some Greenhouse rocker regulars, and my international fashion invasion. We had the seven most beautiful girls from Denmark with us, DJ Truspin from Montreal, along with some fresh faces. With sporadic 5-minute open bars with 30+ vodka shots, a tight door, and amazing decor, there’s no reason you should stay in on a Monday night.

Tuesday @ Tenjune and Le Royale
Tuesday was a little too Fresh for Gabi and I this week. Not only did Gabi host a table for teenage heartthrob Jesse McCartney, but I got myself in a little bit of trouble at Le Royale.
“Remember that time Diplo showed up at 3AM, and mass texts sent all NYC nightlife music heads to little Le Royale until 6AM?”
Well I do, and for you nightlife sleepers out there, Le Royale’s last night was Tuesday. As you know I used to work in the art deco-tacky-chandelie
r-strewn venue with kamikaze staircases that housed the best Monday night dance party in the city, as well as the infamous Robot Rock Friday night party, so this place means the world to me. We celebrated with an EVERYTHING open bar all night, as well as five finger specials… Our favorite DJ, Mr. iPod spun everything from lounge beats to The Walkmen, Leighton Meester camped out bar-side, and even a Postelle showed up to toast the last night of our dying debaucherous nights at nightclubs such as Beatrice, Socialista, and now… R.I.P… Le Royale.
Tenjune: ”I know we look like we belong L.E.S. but please let us in…”
Gabi looked HOT at Tenjune. The place was packed as usual, with the usual suspects; models, collard shirts, little black dresses, and the DJ blaring the radio. But it was a blast. If you love dancing, going out straight bottle-service promoter style, or need a change from the normal bar crawl or lounging at The Jane, Tenjune may be the spot to let loose. From observation Gabi had not only the best table in the VIP section, but Jessie appeared more than happy to have a table of cute girls surrounding him as well… revised edition from Gabi to come.

Wednesday @ The Gates
Just as DJs Kieren and Marc-Alan describe it, Wednesdays at The Gates are truely a party to “fashion it up” to “indiepopelectrorockbangers.”
This was not a normal night at The Gates. This was the kickoff of DJs Kieren and Marc-Alan’s “blackFUN!!!” party, and it was quite the spectacle. Girls sported all types of styles from sundresses, to sequined American Apparel shorts, and guys in this season’s well tailored suits paired with punk rock distressed shirts. And guess who had typical Gates table? In business casual wear, and fancy cocktail club dreses my friends from Dubai stopped in for their one night in the city to party, and trust me, they party. Thoroughly enjoying the “indiepopelectrorockbangers” we danced and toasted to an unusual night at The Gates.
Join us every Wednesday 12:30-4pm before braving The Box (yes, we admit Wednesdays are a FRESH 10 there.)
Check in at our twitter to find out venues we hit up daily.
Stay fresh,
Kat
Last Sunday Gabi and I threw our first collaborative party, and boy was it fresh. For most city dwellers Sunday is a day of rest, a quiet brunch with the family, or having refreshing drinks by Hamptons pools, but for a select group of Manhattan’s young and flashy Sunday calls for bottle service, bumpin’ house music, and champagne showers. Our garden party at the exclusive Gramercy Park Rooftop was a pleasant mix of both. Think of it as the calm before the storm; bottle service in the private garden, fresh tunes, and a little more clothing than most Sunday parties. Guests enjoy playing the board games offered by the Gramercy, one group even used dice via iPhone. They dance, and they socialize while drinking bloody marys and munching on grilled goodies such as fish tacos (my personal fave), burgers, and wraps. Last week, even with some technical difficulties, DJs Josh Link and Vikas held it down spinning our favorite late night tunes to nurse our Saturday-night-induced hangovers. The crowd, provided by some of our favorite hosts Sal, Tim Sharp, and Julian consisted of Meatpacking glitz meets L.E.S. fashionistas with some hotel patrons and curious new friends in the mix partying until sunset. For Gabi and I it is clear this party is a fresh start to the busy party week ahead of us, and makes for a productive Monday too!
